I am a wrestling photographer, living in Lund in southern Sweden since more than 40 years. I make my living as a university professor in media and communication studies. Even though I enjoy my job, shooting wrestling has been passion since 2013, when I shot my first wrestling show in Malmö, Sweden. After this mindblowing encounter, I became engaged in the world of wrestling. For many years I covered the scene in Malmö and various venues in Copenhagen and in the rest of Sweden. Initially, this endeavor only included action shots and character portraits during the events, but after a while I also started to cover the local wrestling culture by documentary photography. Today, this project has come to an end. In August 2026 I completed a photo book about the Swedish wrestling scene. It is the story about the emergence of this scene, written in Swedish and packed with spectacular photographs. You can learn more about this book here (in Swedish), where you also find a link through wich you can order it.
A couple of years ago I also produced a book chapter (in Swedish), based on interviews with female wrestlers, which will be included in the upcoming book. It is downloadable here: Grundkurs i wrestling för blivande konnässörer. This chapter is published in the odd academic Festschrift genre, dedicated to a retired colleague. Since few wrestling fans have any relation whatsoever to retired professors, I suggest skipping the first section. Feel free to share the link to my site, but please note that using my images on other sites is allowed with my permission only! Like to get in touch? Talk about wrestling, photography or wrestling photography? Give me feedback on my work? Please send me an e-mail!
